This site exists because portable power marketing is a mess: peak watts dressed up as continuous watts, “solar generators” sold without panels, and battery chemistries that quietly determine whether your purchase lasts two years or ten. We cut through that with plain numbers and honest trade-offs.

How we evaluate
Every recommendation on this site is scored against five criteria:

Battery chemistry first
LiFePO4 cells last 3,000+ cycles; older NMC/Li-ion designs manage a few hundred. Chemistry is the single biggest driver of long-term value, so it leads every evaluation.

Usable capacity, honest output
We translate watt-hours into nights of CPAP, hours of fridge, and laptop charges — and we flag inverters whose “peak” numbers flatter the spec sheet.

Weight where it matters
A pound is irrelevant in a garage and everything on a walk-in campsite. Categories are ranked with their real use in mind.

Charging in the real world
Wall-charge speed, solar input ceilings, and whether the included panel can actually keep up with daily drain.

Support and warranty
A five-year warranty from a brand with a real support channel beats a marginally better spec from a brand that may not exist next year.
